Sad news on Nintendo President
Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata has passed away. Read below, according to The Australian Financial Review, in their own words:

by Kana Inagaki
"Satoru Iwata, the 55-year-old chief executive of Nintendo who redefined video gaming with the launch of the Wii console a decade ago, died of cancer at the weekend.
Mr Iwata's death comes at a critical juncture as the Japanese company behind the Super Mario games franchise experiments with the growing mobile gaming market, breaking away from its consoles-only strategy.
The unexpected loss leaves Nintendo in search of strong leadership to steer its strategic shift toward mobile platforms. The company said it was yet to select a new president, but its two other representative directors on the board — games guru Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda — will jointly run the company in the interim.
Mr Iwata, who began his career as a video game programmer in the 1980s, was handpicked as president by his predecessor, Hiroshi Yamauchi, in 2002 — just two years after joining the Kyoto-based company. He was only the fourth president to lead Nintendo since it was formed in 1889 as a maker of Japanese playing cards, and the first who was not a member of the founding Yamauchi family.
"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer," Mr Iwata said during a speech at the Game Developers Conference in 2005.
Together with Mr Miyamoto — the creator of Donkey Kong and the Super Mario and Legend of Zelda franchises — Mr Iwata spurred the success of Nintendo DS and the motion-sensing Wii with a focus on easy-to-use consoles that drew in new audiences beyond hardcore gamers."read more....

Video Mourning Nintendo President's Death

Christmas is approaching and the pressure is on for presents. I had decided to go low this year. Maybe, I should go away for a holiday, I thought. That way, I do not have to give any gifts right now. But, I know that these kiddies will never allow me to go away. So, this is how the story goes :

1. Paving the way for their Nintendos

Of late, I had noticed that the children went out of their way to be nice to me. They shared their lollies, ice-cream and even chocolates. I am not a big fan of sweets...they are. So, in their minds they think that it pleases me.
Anyway, they had not directly asked me for anything. Oh, they are ever so sweet!!(sarcasm). Their
behaviour was docile---smiling for no reason in particular.

2.The Nintendo 3DS craze

The other day they came to me  in a group, smiling. They had an i-pad with them. They started showing me pictures of  nintendo 3ds. Why? What have I got to do with it? They said they loved it. All their friends...Sara, Wayne, Dave, James...and so on had them. Their Aunts had given it to them. So? They were showing off in front of them. They could take it no more. They too, wanted it. They wanted to prove to their friends that their Aunt was equally good, if not more. Ahem!! They were roping me in.

3.Video on nintendo 3ds.

They even showed me a video on YouTube.
They came fully prepared.

4. Going Console-hunting

So, off I went searching for the nintendo devices. It turned out that they do not come cheap. I gulped dry saliva. I did not expect them to be so expensive! I needed three. So, what do I do? I had to be a better Aunt. Unfortunately, I could not afford them. Not at that price. They were too over-priced for my deep but partially empty pocket.

The prices for the ordinary ones go thus :
Target: $248.00AUD
  BigW: $248.00AUD
GoodGuys: $239.00AUD
ebay Australia: $249.00AUD

5.Nintendo 3DS and three happy kids

I got home looking dejected. The children looked at me suspiciously. What, no nintendo, after all?
Next morning, I asked my colleague at work for advice. She had bought a nintendo 3ds for her daughter.
She bought it  here.

I checked it out. My jaw hung to the floor. This store had nintendos in beautiful colours. Their prices were much lower. The difference in prices  was almost hundred dollars per piece. You save a lot when you buy three.

So, please save your money. You can then use this money for other useful things. You can use it towards your home loan, as I did. Or, you can buy extra groceries for Christmas. This is money left in your own pocket. So, please do not buy nintendo 3ds in Australia. It is way too expensive.
